Press Info

A m y S h o is a lover of life. ?It?s a great big carnival,? she says, ??colors, sounds, emotion, so simple and yet complex.? The same must be said of her music as well?edgy with a soft side, melodic and original, familiar yet fresh. Her full-length album, RiZe, is a rich and colorful mosaic of sound full of unexpected twists and turns. The title track, ?RiZe? is complete with heavy- hitting guitar riffs and began as a lament in traffic on the 405. Acoustic ?Breathe? speaks of the ride of life and how we must not forget to stop, smell the roses, and b-r-e-a-t-h-e. ?Damn Fine? (the ballad) visits past loves, ?Prodigal Daughter? tells of dreams and disillusionments, and ?Gilded Cage? rages on the battles of ?keeping your game face? while you scream inside.

Bio

At age 11, she penned and performed her first song for the congregation of The First Baptist Church of Louisville, Mississippi. The congregation was, at the very least, a bit surprised. ?Well, you know hon? ?said Amy?s grandmother, ?it was good? we just weren?t expecting such a BIG voice from such a little girl?.?
Well? expect it. Amy?s ?big? voice can rattle your rafters and has been heard in venues worldwide. When asked how she writes (all songs on the CD are her own), Amy states that she writes ?from experiences, emotions, and existentialism? you know, stuff that happens. Lots of folks face the world with masks of who they really are and find daily existence a constant struggle?with the voices keeping a running commentary in our heads? ruling our lives. We have to learn to let go and just be who we are? nothing more, nothing less. That?s why I write. It?s what I write about. It?s my way of letting go? nothing more and nothing less. Song writing gives me the opportunity to tell it like I see it? (smiling) with or without alliteration.? AmySho's CD, RiZe, is available on virtual shelves.
