Get To Know Me...

I believe that I have a unique sound that is yet to be discovered. I am also a true believer of making dreams become a reality if you continue to preserver. I can't even begin to describe what kind of sound I have because I don't quite know myself. I do know that I have a keen influence that starts with the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington. But my background is undoubtedly contemporary gospel and that would include the influence of those such as CeCe Winans and Sandi Patti. I love to sing, it's always been my passion. I've been singing since I was 7 years old. We had a family ministry that traveled across the country singing for different churches. As I got older my passion for music steered to RnB/Pop/Jazz. I began writing my own music about 6 years ago and I'm still at it. I've performed before thousands in arenas such as the Superdome in New Orleans for church functions. I also did the American Idol thing season 2; I got to Simon and Randy. But I've discovered that their opinions aren't the ones that truly matter. My one desire is for the world to hear my music. I love all people and I want my music to be appealing to all people. So listen....and get to know me...Alyxe
