Based in Chapel Hill, NC, Allday Afternoon is an acoustic rock band featuring the talents of songwriters Joel Turner, Alex Rhodes, KJ Straub, and Keith Sigel who collectively cite diverse influences such as Guster, Pete Yorn, the Beatles, Ryan Adams, and the Connells. The band's sound is built on acoustic guitar driven rock tracks laden with powerful, catchy vocal hooks and eerie accompanying guitar riffs. Instrumentation includes two acoustic guitars, electric guitar, bass, and drums. Rhodes, Straub, and Sigel all share vocal duties in the band with the majority of the songs being sung by Rhodes.

The band was formed in May 2001 and quickly grew into a demanding yet rewarding enterprise with a large following of fans in the Chapel Hill area. Despite their busy schedules as full time students at the University of North Carolina, the band manages to play several shows a week throughout the triangle area.
