Estrela de Mil Pontas (Star of a Thousand Points)

The album "Estrela de Mil Pontas", by singer-songwriter Paulo Lara, was recorded and produced at the studio Shark's Castle, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 08/2009 to 08/2010. His multi-layered melodies and beautifully arranged music blend different influences that range from pop music to progressive rock and world music, singing about spirituality. The album was produced and arranged by music producer Flavio Marchesin and co-produced by Paulo Lara. The songs from this album were written at different points along the last decade. A song like "Overflow", for example, was originally written in 1998, but was totally revisited with new lyrics and adjustments for this album. "Nostalgia" had been also recorded previously and featured in a live CD. On the other hand, songs like "Better World", "When You Look Around" and "Shanti Om" only came to life a few months before their production and recording process. The album also features songs written by Brazilian songwriters Lula Barbosa, Andre Madi, Chandra Lacombe and Rafael Coronel. The expression "Estrela de Mil Pontas", which can be translated to English as "star of a thousand points", talks about an intense desire to open our hearts and do whatever we can to reach out to others. It is all about giving our love and doing our part in the world - and that can only happen from within our hearts. "You got to start anywhere Then a star of a thousand points will lead your heart And it'll take a lot of consciousness To bring a new song to our faces You got to start anywhere" (Estrela de Mil Pontas)
