Butterflies

Folk - Contemporary

Album- Butterflies (2007) Tracks- bring it on, small town girl, lines drawn in the sand, butterflies, the secret's out, from the wood, something else, on my street, feather in the cap, solid ground. A change of recording technique on this album, it was recorded, arranged and mixed using Pro Tools software and M Box external hardware. This brought its own hurdles and frustrations but I think it was worth it in the end. Moving from stand alone digital to hard disk however, emphasised the point that whatever else you do, you should capture the sound and mood first. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the technology at the expense of what this is all about in the first place (it must be great to have an engineer on the other side of the glass). The arrangements are beefier on some of the tracks than the previous two albums, but I controlled the urge to use everything just because it's there!.Thanks again Mark for some superb guitar and mixing advise. I'm extremely pleased with the overall sound of the tracks and natural mood changes from song to song, as well as the way the lyrics arrived on time (so often I've nailed a decent melody and guitar part only to draw a complete blank lyrically). Well, I hope you like it too!
