yeah, really

This album was recorded in several different studios in Ireland over a period of about nine months in the late 20th century (yes, we could draw interesting nine month time parallels, but we might get fired over them). The reason for using different studios was simply not to be tied to one feel or sound as so regularly happens in contemporary music today. The musicians featured were the elaine k band as it was in Ireland. These were musicians that worked with elaine over a few years both on the road and in the studio. The comfort and ease among them is evident in the sound. There were also some guest musicians invited in to add a little new flavor in parts which provides some extra tasty morsels along the way. With or without all of them though, the songs are really what will make you shut up and listen. The honesty is overwhelming without indulging in the naval gazing preferred by many singer/songwriter types. elaine k's ability to relay your deepest, innermost feelings is quite frankly, scary at times. People regularly run home to check their diaries after gigs to make sure that no-one broke in and read them, simply to provide elaine with some new inspiration! Listen, we think it's a fantastic album and although we are eagerly awaiting the next one, we're still not sick of this one. You know the way you really only have a handful of CDs that you will continue to take with you when you go away, even just for the weekend? Well, this is definitely one of them.
