Revenge Against Fate

Rock - Indie/Low-Fi

"I pick up the guitar and I play until I find something I can feel, something I have an internal Reaction to; once I experience this reaction, I investigate - locate the source and uncover the fault line. With the sound of the guitar will come Snippets of a word or phrase, and a picture - these are all parts of the Reaction. When I experience the Reaction, that's how I know it's True, that's how I know it Means something - my job is to find out What. So I dig and I dig - I dig through Words, through Chords, through Imagery and Sounds. I dig through Feelings and Thoughts and Perceptions. I look at every kernel and if I don't have a Reaction to it I throw it Away - I throw everything that isn't Real away. I dig until I find the source of Pain, and I bring it to the Light - I don't care if I have to tear a hole in myself to do it: *This* is my job as a writer". "Revenge Against Fate" is a concept album. It looks upon a world of desert wastelands, ghost tows and ruined cities. Concretely rooted in both the present and the world gone-by,"Revenge Against Fate" is a tangled story of corruption, bloodshed, deceit, betrayal, pain and desperation. The songs are written in a mode not often ventured. Indeed there are few comparisons. The songwriting was directly (though ambigously) influenced by these few musical forefathers and foremothers: 1. Johnny Cash 2. Polly Jean Harvey 3. The Jesus And Mary Chain 4. Leonard Cohen 5. Neil Young and 6. - though few would clock it - Nirvana. The production itself was also strongly influenced by Radiohead as well as particular lessons I learned from the "3:10 to Yuma" soundtrack. Special Note: The Album as of Jan 31 2009 is available for purchase by contacting Delton Hayes at delton.haez@gmail.com
