Ross Williams and Grand Union

Grand Union was formed in late 2005 by songwriters David (MelloD) McCormick (vox, perc, guit), Jerome Monaco (guit, vox), and Steve Aman (keys, vox). Recruiting seasoned tour drummer Mike Montgomery (Uprite Dub Orchestra, Warsaw Poland Bros, Purusa) and local bassist Anthony Wagner they had almost crafted the group that would transmit their soulful studio sound to the stage. Golden-voiced jazz singer and American Idol (Season 4, Feb 2005) semifinalist Ross Williams completed the sound and the newly formed Grand Union burst from Portland's underground house-party scene into the clubs. Ross' soulful voice and the band's commitment to the groove brought audiences to the dance floor and quickly made Grand Union a presence in Portland's live music scene. Earning a headlining spot at Portland's Goodfoot Lounge in mid May 2006 has only driven the band's ambitions to expand the party across the West. Get ready for the release of Grand Union's 9 song "Take Him Out" EP (now in post production) and four state Summer 2006 CD release tour. For Grand Union, it seems to be all coming together...
