SURRENDER

Pop - Rock

New Zealand born singer/songwriter - Craig Mckenzie offers up his debut Album -"SURRENDER" independently released under Craig's own label - END TIMES RECORDS . Surrender is a collection of songs about life , love and relationships both natural and supernatural, ranging from "funky little hip hop angel" an energetic fun song about flirting with retail assistants (the first single to released off the album),through to more serious content such as "beautiful child" a song that touches on abortion and the loss of a child. At the risk of alienating potential buyers by featuring a cross on the cover, Craig is unashamed to show where the center of his life is focused. The majority of the album was recorded/programmed in his bedroom, demonstrating his skills in programming beats/loops. Recording all the vocals in the spare bedroom, the challenge was getting the vocals (and acoustic guitars) down between the noisy weather/surrounding houses being built and cars driving up the street! Most of the electric guitars were recorded using his PRS through a Line 6 flexitone amp. Andrew Buckton added some tasteful guitar lines and percussion at studio 203 where the album was mixed over six days. The album was sent to New York to be mastered by Leon Zervos at Sterling Sound, an expensive but crucial part of the process.
