Lovecraft?s work of dark fantasy ?The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath?. The album captures the essence of a dreamer?s journey. Suggested "first listen/play" tracks include: Zoogs in the Woods, Boston, Night-gaunts, and Dreams of the Marvelous City. A dark, moody atmosphere looms overhead in several of the pieces such as The Image of the Gods on Ngranek, Kadath in the Cold Waste, and The Crawling Chaos Nyarlathotep. Dark synthesizer voices, deep drones, and ambient sounds combine to create atmospheres that range from brooding to ominous. Seventy Steps to the Cavern of Flame and Falling Through Eternity present transitional moods and styles as they shift into and out of the dreamscape with rich synthesizer textures, ambient sounds, and evolving soundscapes.
