Susan Weidman is the daughter of a professional Opera Singer. Opera was such an obsession for her mother that Susan actually avoided music altogether for several years. However, the music of Duncan Sheik (the song "Barely Breathin") finally inspired her to start writing songs of her own.

The upbeat melodies of her music immediately caught the attention of Dell Long, the Public Relations genius who worked with B.B. King and Wolfman Jack.
