BIO

More so than any other music since the blues, hip-hop is all about stories. Its stories are both criminal minded and grand, making them enthralling and unbelievable, but also making them only as interesting and convincing as the teller. That?s why, even without record label backing, Jersey, 21, has been entrapping listeners and captivating audiences, while demanding attention and respect. Born, Brian Hyppolite, and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, his authoritive voice has become a mouthpiece for hustlers in every hood and a spokesman for street dreamers that want more than an 8x10 cell or 6 foot grave. Coupling his true-life hardships with his knack for addictive, syrupy hooks, and hard hitting punchlines, it?s clear that Jersey has what it takes to ride down the road of longevity in the rap game.

After moving to Tampa, Fl. and being mentored by one of Gospel music?s leading R&B artist, Deitrick Haddon, Jersey made his first national appearance in Deitrick?s Voices of Unity?s All Star Edition. The album received a Stellar Award for best collaboration of 2004. He made his second appearance on Deitrick?s gold selling album Crossroads.

Already having a name that held weight in the streets, (hint, hint), in October of 2004 Jersey released his first mixtape By any Means Necessary. Not only debuting himself, but introducing listeners to his clique HeadLinaz. It hit like an atom bomb, exploding everywhere and demanding recognition. But unsatisfied with being a local celeb, he immediately went back in the studio and soon released Ready for War in the fall of 2005. Now assuredly building a fan base, without giving himself a chanced to be missed he released Last of a Dying Breed in the spring of 2006.

The product of his unrelenting drive, talent and frankly, his realness, Jersey?s first official album promises to reserve him a spot next to some of rap?s greats. With his infectious flow and viciously funny I-don?t-give-a-fuck personality, there is no doubt that in this genre of music that is now based on thug gimmicks covered by talks of top shelve drinks, flashy jewel, and beyond reality lifestyles, it is clear that Jersey is the LAST OF A DYING BREED.
