Check out my English-language version of the Brazilian mega-hit "Esperando na Janela" by Targino Gondim which plays almost non-stop every year during the season of Forro music (May, June and July) in the Northeast of Brazil. The English-language version is entitled "If She's Waiting in the Window" and the arrangement features a fusion of Forró (which is similar to Tejano Music) and Jazz. I hope you enjoy!!

Doug Adair Bio--WIU Brazil Tour

Doug Adair is a 1976 graduate of Western Illinois University's (WIU) College of Fine Arts and Communication and holds a degree in Mass Communication. He received the WIU Alumni Achievement Award in 1993. During his time at WIU, Doug served two terms as President of the University Union Board and participated as a student representative on numerous university committees including the Bond Revenue Committee and the University Strategic Planning Committee. He served as a Resident Assistant on Lincoln 6 and was a member of the Blue Key Honor Society as well as Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Following graduation from WIU, he was employed by WIU as Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Affairs.

Doug has fond memories of the years he spent in Macomb and the many friends he made among WIU faculty and staff including Dr. Bill Brattain, Jim Miner, Jim Keeney, Dr. Gordy Taylor, Sandy Kaiser, Elise Jordan, Gil Baker, Dr. Gary Schwartz, Dr. Nell Glynn Koester, Dr. Larry Miltenberger, Dr. Floyd Hoelting, Dean Forrest Suycott, and Dr. Leslie Malpass, who was President of WIU during that time. Doug says, "I learned so much and grew tremendously in addition to developing some unique business skills at WIU--both in the classroom and through my work with student activities in the WIU University Union. My WIU education and experiences have served me well throughout my career and, to this day, I continue applying what I learned at WIU to my work in economic and social development and entertainment in Brazil."

Doug is an internationally-known association and business executive, and a professional songwriter and entertainer. He is President of ORS Interactive, Inc., a consulting and technology firm headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia and is also Director of ORS Multimídia Interativa, Ltda., the Brazilian affiliate of ORS Interactive, Inc., based in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.

Doug is considered a leading international expert on the hospitality and tourism sector, sustainable tourism development, association / third sector management, and business development for multiple sectors. He was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (CHRIE) in Washington, DC, from 1986 to 1996. Prior to his appointment with CHRIE, he served as the Director of Education Services for the National Association of REALTORS in Chicago and Washington, DC.

An accomplished entertainer, musician and songwriter, Doug has performed across the United States and in Canada, South America, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Europe and New Zealand.
