Who is Diamond BlaQ?

Richmond, Virginia native Diamond BlaQ, born Kimeesha R. Harper, came from a musical background. Diamond's mother was an inspiring female rap artist, uncle was a DJ, and her father was a true hip-hop head she was always surrounded by music. Like most kids of today Diamond grew up in the struggle; struggles in which consisted of growing up in an abusive and also drug infested household because of her father. However, thanks to her mother she was in away protected from it. Even though her mother tried to keep her from it, she still became angry at the world and couldn't quite understand why she was put in the position that she was in at an early age. So of course like any other kid she acted out and basically was rebellious. Once she hit the age of 8 she decided that she needed an outlet so she started writing stories. Later on down the road, her former best friend, JR, introduced her to rapping and so she decided to put those stories to instrumentals. Once she felt like she was good enough, she showcased her talent to her uncle and after he heard how good she was, he the introduced her to ciphers and freestyle battles. Diamond BlaQ has successfully performed at various venues and events. She has won many awards like 1st place in a local talent show in Richmond, Va, 2nd place in the "Do you think you have talent?' showcase, 2nd place in the Morgan State Casa talent show, and more. She has got the opportunity to perform in front of 106 & park judges and also have had the opportunity to be featured on local radio stations in Richmond, VA.
