Bio

“I am a schitzo”, Alda says about herself, and laughs. “The problem with me is that I do too many things and sing and write too many different styles, it confuses people. The men in suits want to be able to label and pigeon hole you, if they can’t they get confused and lose interest. It’s safer that way…they think. Instead they could have a really versatile and multi task artist.”

Alda sings and writes Pop/Rock/Dance and Indie and she’s also written a 500 page novel and a Musical. “I’m a creative creature that comes alive in the dark. I dream of plots for books and songs I often write as I’m alone driving in my car,” Alda carries on.

Alda was born in a small, cold country that in her view was not really meant to be habited by people. She explains further. “It’s cold, dark, non-forgiving and volatile, and at the same time glorious, warm in spirit and full of mystery. Come on, we have trolls, elves, 13 Santas with a mother who has hooves instead of feet who eats naughty children, how can you end up normal growing up with that?”

Alda started her music career in her native Iceland and had many hits over there, moved to Sweden and then to London-England. After many years of struggling, singing in grotty little pubs and clubs, she finally got a recording deal with, her then group, Urban K: Loud with Jive /Zomba. It didn’t work out so she left the band and signed a solo deal with Wildstar Records and had a massive hit in the summer of 1998 with her debut single Real Good
