The Finals Rules

1. The finals are about acknowledging the 40 songwriters who consistently submitted successful songs to the competition. So, in order to be eligible for the finals, you need to submit at least 3 songs to the 6-Pack. (* Note: anyone is eligible to win the individual 6-Pack Cans, regardless of how many songs you submit.)

2. The overall top 40 point-leaders who are eligible will advance to the finals.

3. Three songs from each finalist, selected by the finalist from their 6-Pack submissions, will be entered into the finals peer-ranking system (120 songs in total). If finalist does not choose three of their submitted songs by 11/19/2017 12:00 AM (CST), their three highest-ranked songs submitted in the individual cans will be entered.

4. Any member who has submitted to the 6-Pack, any paid member and/or any member who signed up with Broadjam before November 10th, 2017 is eligible to vote in the finals peer-ranking system.

5. Songs will be rated using the "Good, Better, Best" ranking system, wherein the members will compare songs in sets of three and rank the songs in order of preference.

6. In the finals, the songwriter ratings are determined by the overall average rankings their songs receive in each individual stage. All three songs will receive an average rating based on rankings received during that round and those ratings will then be averaged together to create and overall songwriter rating.

7. Each songwriter will begin each stage of the finals with a clean slate; the scores from the 6-Pack and previous stages of the finals will not be counted toward any subsequent stages. (For example: If your score in the Top 40 advances you to the Top 20, the score will then be erased and all Top 20 songwriters will begin the peer-rankings on an even playing field.)

8. On November 20, 2017, the 40 highest-rated songwriters of the 6-Pack who are eligible will be announced and will advance to the finals (120 songs in total). On November 27, 2017, the 20 highest-rated songwriters will advance to the next stage (60 songs in total). On December 4, 2017, the 10 highest-rated songwriters will advance to the next stage (30 songs in total). On December 11, 2017, the 3 highest-rated songwriters will advance to the final stage (9 songs in total). On December 18, 2017, the songwriter with the highest overall rating of the final 3 songwriters will be named the Grand Prize Winner.

9. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the individual song ratings (within the given round) of the artists involved.
