24TH ANNUAL TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE AND CREATIVITY AWARDS

Presented by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio and sponsored by Mix magazine, the TEC Awards is world's most prestigious recognition of outstanding achievement in professional sound and music production and product design. Held October 3, 2008 in San Francisco, the ceremony featured awards in 26 categories of Technical and Creative Achievement for the best audio products and projects of the year.
The sold-out crowd of more than 600 top engineers, producers and artists also witnessed the induction of musician/producer/composer T Bone Burnett to the TEC Hall of Fame by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Later, the coveted Les Paul Award was presented via videotape by Billy Bob Thornton to Ray Benson, the "King of Western Swing" and founder and leader of Asleep at the Wheel, which performed at the event.
